Summary

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.

We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We exist to stir every spirit and to provoke change in the individual, including bodies, minds and heart.

The Curators’ Team is key in researching the history of the palaces and their people. We care for our buildings, collections and landscapes, and we tell their stories and our understanding leads to relevance and impact in the world.

This role will provide leadership to a team of five Curators responsible for the Historic Buildings, working across the six unique palace sites.

Responsible for championing the history and the understanding of our built fabric and estate, the team will provide advice to our building surveyors on archaeology, archaeological recording, and on the history and significance of our estate, liaising with Historic England, and complying with the law on listed buildings and scheduled ancient monuments.
