Summary

The Opportunity

Our Archaeology and Heritage team is looking to recruit a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join us in any of our offices to help deliver our rapidly expanding portfolio of interesting, diverse and challenging projects throughout England and Wales.

Who are EDP?

The Environmental Dimension Partnership Ltd (EDP) is a highly regarded and successful multi-disciplinary environmental planning consultancy undertaking projects across the country from our offices in Cardiff, Cirencester and Cheltenham.

EDP is the place to build your career, where we seek to identify, nurture and develop experts through involvement in challenging and rewarding projects. We place significant value on our EDP Team and we are extremely proud of the culture and brand we have built and are continuing to build on. As a result, we have exceptional staff retention across our three offices.

The Role

At both grades you will research and prepare desk-based assessments, built heritage and setting assessments, impact assessments, environmental statements and other specialist reports as necessary (e.g. written schemes of investigation). You will provide advice to our clients in respect of all aspects of the planning process in relation to archaeological and heritage matters and undertake the management of archaeological fieldwork resourced from our external subcontractors.

Your Skills

For both roles you will ideally have demonstrable experience in an archaeological fieldwork role (or the knowledge and ability to design, commission and manage the completion of programmes of archaeological work) and/or built heritage assessments. You will not only provide technical project support to the wider EDP Archaeology and Heritage team, but also bring significant experience to the business across a range of project types and scales.

To apply for the Senior role, in addition to the above, you will need to have a proven track record in heritage consultancy.

You will have an enthusiasm for multi-disciplinary projects, but more importantly be enthusiastic regarding the opportunities to work with our clients, project managers and members of the EDP team. Most of all, you will provide solution-focused and pragmatic advice to our clients on a wide variety of archaeology and heritage projects and deliver high quality technical outputs to inform and support a range of development proposals.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their professional skills, project management and technical ability by working within the wider EDP team by showing energy, enthusiasm and excellent client care skills, enabling you to advance your professional reputation and create your own portfolio of projects.

The successful candidate will be positive, proactive, client focussed, and be committed to maintaining their expertise through internal and external training and research and ideally be at least an Associate member of the CIfA.

EDP Benefits

The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package, including: pension contributions; private health insurance; 30 days annual leave allowance (+ bank holidays); TOIL; 1 extra leave day for your birthday; work anniversary rewards; fully-flexi working patterns and a profit share bonus scheme.

What do you need to do now?

To apply, please email your CV and a covering letter to Team EDP (teamEDP@edp-uk.co.uk) and state the post you are applying for and your office location preference should you have one. Interviews will be held at the earliest opportunity for strong candidates.

We will be reviewing applications as they are received, with the intention to appoint as soon as possible.

EDP are a flexible employer and due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and differing rules across England and Wales, all interviews will be held via zoom.

EDP is an equal opportunities employer.
