Description

CIfA and Historic Environment Scotland are working in partnership with the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) to support heritage organisations of all sizes to access the Kickstart programme. The Kickstart programme provides funding from the Department of Work and Pensions to allow organisations to provide six-month placements 25 hours a week for young people 16-24 years in receipt of universal credit.  The funding will pay a minimum wage salary, National Insurance Contributions and automatic pension contributions.

This is an opportunity for our sector to take advantage of a fixed-term funded placement scheme that has the potential to introduce new and diverse members to our workforce.

The partners are offering a robust package of ongoing support for recruitment and training for employers. Acting as a Gateway organisation the SCVO will support employers through application, recruitment, delivery and evaluation of the scheme. CIfA and HES will also support employers with advice and training resources (such as learning and development plans). Kickstart employees and receive £1000 to go towards the training of your Kickstart placement or essential equipment (including PPE) required for the placement to take place.

This seminar will give you an opportunity to find out more about the scheme and explore how your organisation can take part in it.

The seminar is aimed at those based within Scotland, but if you are based outside of Scotland and are interested in Kickstart, please get in touch with Cara at cara.jones@archaeologists.net
