Exmoor National Park is a unique and beautiful part of the country.
Our Heritage at Risk programme plays a vital role in protecting Exmoor's historic environment, identifying vulnerable heritage assets that are at risk.
We are now looking for a Heritage Projects Officer to join us on a fixed-term contract for 2.5 years. This is a full-time role, although part-time working will also be considered.

- Salary of £32,597 - £36,363 per annum (pro rata)

The Role
As a Heritage Projects Officer, you will deliver our Heritage at Risk programme, helping to conserve the historic environment of Exmoor.
You'll identify vulnerable heritage assets, co-ordinate repair and conservation projects, maintain accurate condition records and work with owners, partners and stakeholders to improve the long-term management of Exmoor's heritage.
You will aim to decrease the number of ‘at risk’ heritage assets, increase new heritage designated locations and historical assets, develop the understanding of the historic environment and ensure that all conservation areas are appropriately managed.
About You
- Experience in heritage management, project management, archaeological conservation or building repair
- A strong understanding of government heritage policies and statutory consent
- The ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- A degree in heritage conservation, archaeology, building conservation or a related discipline
