Our Dartmoor Headwaters Programme aims to restore natural processes across rivers, peatlands and wetlands, reducing flooding and increasing biodiversity.
The Role
As a Dartmoor Headwaters Officer (Historic Environment), you will work alongside our Dartmoor Headwaters Officers (NFM) to deliver natural flood management schemes that support nature recovery whilst protecting Dartmoor’s historic environment.
You will help balance nature restoration, climate resilience and the protection of historic features within scheme designs. You will also support specifications and tender documents for historic environment surveys, work with contractors on-site and collaborate with DNPA’s archaeologists.
About You
You will have significant professional archaeological experience, including expertise in archaeological fieldwork surveys and desk-based assessments, as well as experience working with contractors.
Ideally, you will have experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders. Awareness of natural flood management is desirable, with opportunities to develop your knowledge during the project.
The post is based at Parke, Bovey Tracey, with travel across the National Park.
