Subscriptions and annual update

The subscription year runs from 1 April to 31 March the following year.

Payment is due by 1 April 2026. Your certificate will be issued once we have received your annual update form and your subscription fee.

  • The fee is based on the financial turnover of the organisation’s historic environment operations. This should be taken from the last complete set of annual accounts available at the time of registration and should include the turnover from any subsidiary offices.
  • The percentage of accredited members relates to archaeological staff within your organisation.
  • Archaeological organisations whose role is exclusively as a curatorial authority will be charged at the lowest rate.

Organisations applying for the first time will provide this information via their application form, along with an application fee of £225.

Annual update form

To pay your subscription fee, you need to return your annual update form

Before you start, please make sure you have this information ready:

  • An update on any conditions or recommendations
  • Any major changes in the organisation’s role or activities since the previous application for registration
  • Any major changes in organisational structure since the previous application for registration
  • The confirmed subscription amount and turnover from the last complete set of annual accounts
  • Percentage of historic environment staff who are accredited members
  • Total number of archaeological staff and total number of staff CIfA accredited at each grade
  • Employer's contribution to CIfA subscription fees
  • Optional: An update on contributions to the historic environment and the profession. We may feature them in our publications and communications to promote the Registered Organisation scheme
  • Optional: An Information contact, details of your Training administrator, details of your Finance administrator
