Affiliate members are expected to support and work towards the CIfA Code of conduct. We do not require any supporting evidence to apply.
Affiliate members need to be at least one of the below
- interested in archaeology and supporting the Institute’s work
- a recent graduate (or former student member) who does not yet meet the criteria for accreditation
- working in the sector alongside archaeologists in a non-archaeological supporting role eg procurement professionals, facilities, logistics or sustainability managers, policy specialists, learning and development or health and safety
- volunteer in any role that is related to the historic environment eg on fieldwork projects, for museums, for societies etc
- work in another profession who support the work of CIfA eg heritage crime, construction, ecology, museums etc
- interested in the work of CIfA and subject areas of our Special Interest Groups

*Special offer - If you hold a Supporter membership with IHBC you can claim up to one year free as an Affiliate member of CIfA under the MOU. Please email subscriptions@archaeologists.net with your details to claim.
Subscription fees
Current subscription fees are below for 1 April to 31 March the following year. These are based on the grade of membership.
You can choose to pay your subscription in a lump sum or by direct debit over 10 instalments from June to March the following year.
