Responsibilities

  • Carrying out report writing including high-level cultural heritage appraisals, archaeological desk-based assessments, heritage statements, ES Chapters and other documentation
  • Liaising with clients and undertaking consultation with relevant stakeholders including statutory consultees and wider project design teams  
  • Producing WSIs for small and medium scale projects in accordance with relevant legislation, planning policy and CIfA Standards and guidance
  • Attend meetings and/or undertake site visits as required in the role of Consultant
  • Commitment to quality control
  • To ensure that health, safety and wellbeing methodologies, documentation and policies are prepared, understood and followed by the on-site archaeological team on site to ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensuring that work is completed to the required legislative standard, delivered on time, meets project profit targets, and is delivered to the client’s satisfaction
  • Assisting in the management of historic environment, archaeology, and other contracts, liaising with internal and external deliverers, third parties and clients
  • Assisting with the project management of sub-contractors carrying out watching briefs, trial trenching evaluations, geophysical surveys and strip, map, and sample excavations
  • Carrying out and supporting sales activities, such as drafting quotes and building personal relationships with new and existing clients

 

Qualifications/Experience

Essential

  •  A highly experienced professional working in an archaeological or a heritage consultancy role
  • Accreditation with CIfA;
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrable experience of writing high quality technical reports
  • Proficient in the use of ArcGis/ArcPro or similar type software and can produce high quality figures
  • Degree level education or higher in a relevant subject
  • Flexible working with regard to type of work, timing and location.
