Network Archaeology provides archaeological and heritage services across major infrastructure projects, encompassing roads, rail, renewable energy, utilities, and carbon capture. We have an expanding portfolio of UK-based post-excavation work and are looking for the right candidate to join our team. You will be able to understand and assess site data across diverse projects, have demonstrable report-writing skills and a proven ability to work to agreed budgets, deadlines and standards.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare pre-commencement documentation (eg WSI’s)
- Prepare archive reports (grey literature) and post-excavation assessments (PXA) to agreed standards and guidance
- Prepare analysis reports and journal articles to a publication-ready standard.
- Understand and prepare geomatics briefs to create report figures.
What You Will Bring
Essential:
- Qualification in archaeology or a related subject.
- Demonstrable experience preparing archive-level ‘grey-literature’ reports
- A thorough working knowledge of British archaeology
- An awareness of current standards and guidance concerning fieldwork and reporting, such as those of Historic England and the CIfA.
- Professional communication skills with colleagues, the public, and archaeological peers.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
Desirable:
- Post-graduate qualification in archaeology
- An understanding of the current UK planning legislation and guidance
- Experience in preparing reports for scholarly publication
- Experience of preparing published text/reports for other audiences eg: outreach events
- Proficiency with GIS software.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Membership of CIfA at Associate level or above.
