Requirements
Trainee Archaeologists: interest in archaeology and experience of working outdoors desirable
Archaeologists: minimum 6 months commercial experience, PCIfA or equivalent
Trainee Archaeologists will be automatically enrolled on our CIfA Approved Training programme, details of which are available on request. We will acknowledge any previous training recorded by a recognised employer or university department so long as it is recorded on a BAJR Skills Passport.
An increase in our fieldwork programme means we have an immediate requirement for a range of archaeologists to work on a variety of projects. These are predominantly in Kent, although some away work is also likely.
Canterbury Archaeological Trust employs a large full-time team of archaeologists and specialist staff, mostly based out of our Canterbury head office. It is one of the UK’s longest established commercial contracting organisations having been founded in 1975.
Please send cv and covering letter, including the earliest date you are available to start work, to jobs@canterburytrust.co.uk
Applicants must be a British citizen or hold a current work permit. Proof of eligibility will be required prior to any offer of employment; if you hold a Work Permit you should send a copy with your application or it will not be considered.
Closing Date: 31 May 2026
