Bletchley Park Trust is an award-winning museum and heritage attraction, internationally renowned for its key role in World War Two. The Trust exists to attract, engage, and educate visitors from across the world to inspire them with Bletchley Park’s crucial role in World War Two.
We are looking for a Project Conservation Officer to support the delivery of Project Beacon, a new major capital project that includes two new permanent exhibitions (alongside other temporary displays) and the redevelopment of Block B into accessible galleries.
Reporting to the Curator, the Project Conservation Officer (PCO) will be an advisor and an advocate for the heritage consideration of Block B, its fabric, features and immediate landscape. The PCO will be present onsite throughout the basebuild project and during the installation period of the first permanent exhibition gallery. They will support the build teams while ensuring the significance of the historic site is understood, recorded and interpreted, balancing the often-competing priorities of conservation, programme, budget, progress and quality.
Due to the nature of this role and our unique environment, this role will include working on an active construction site, working at height on occasion, along with lifting and carrying items.
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstratable experience within conservation or collections-related work on a live construction project within a listed building, heritage site, historic cultural venue or similar. Further details are available on our website.
