Freelance Archaeological Cataloguers (2) Wanted
Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) are seeking two (2) experienced freelance Archaeological Cataloguers to work alongside each other for two to five (2 to 5) weeks (depending on availability) over the Summer. Your work will support our continuous drive to improve existing records of our collections and ensure HRP is ready to receive further depositions for recent and new interventions efficiently.
You will apply collection specialist knowledge to complete the catalogue of each item into the Collections Management System – CI+ (including, documenting object type and material description, dating, dimensions and photography). If there is capacity, the contract may also include work documenting new interpretation for recent and upcoming public archaeology displays.
During the contract, you'll receive support from our Collections Management team, our Curators where necessary, training in our CMS (CI+), and access to IT equipment for onsite and remote work.
The role is based at Hampton Court Palace/Thames Ditton Store and will require security vetting prior to commencing the contract.
Please contact HRP Registrar, carmel.ogrady@hrp.org.uk if you are interested by 13th July, with your CV, outlining relevant skills and experience, including available start dates and working patterns, your day rates, and/or if you have any questions about the contract.
