Our Archaeology and Historic Building business are seeking an Assistant Supervisor/ Project Supervisor/ Senior Supervisor on a fixed-time (6-month contract) basis. This is a hybrid home and office-based role and the location of the positions can be flexible, but it is expected that the successful candidates will be based out of either our Romsey, Boxworth or Derby offices.
The positions would best suit ambitious and highly motivated individuals with strong communications and time management skills who are looking to advance their career in commercial archaeology and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out archaeological watching briefs and monitoring of ground investigation works, trial trenching evaluations and strip, map and sample excavations to a high standard;
- Assisting with geoarchaeological fieldwork under the supervision of our geoarchaeologist;
- Producing Written Schemes of Investigations, archaeological fieldwork reports and project archives for small-scale projects in accordance with relevant legislation, planning policy and CIfA Standards and guidance;
- To work closely and liaise effectively with ADAS staff and inter alia on-site subcontractors, Principal Contractors, Curators, other stakeholders and members of the public in a collaborative and supportive environment, on and off-site;
- To ensure that health, safety and wellbeing methodologies, documentation and policies are prepared, understood and followed by the on-site archaeological team on site to ensure a safe working environment;
- Working with the in-house archaeological consultants and other staff on site to producing Risk Assessments and site audits; and
- Ensuring that work is completed to the required legislative standard, delivered on time, meets project profit targets, and is delivered to the Client’s satisfaction and of a high archaeological standard.
