Upgrading to ACIfA
A photograph of Cecilia Galleano

I started my archaeological career in Italy in 2012, primarily excavating Roman settlements and medieval remains, both as part of a commercial company and as a self-employed archaeologist. In 2015, I moved to London and began working with various commercial companies, starting with hands-on archaeological fieldwork and gradually transitioning into my current consultancy role in 2021.

This year, I successfully achieved CIfA Associate (ACIfA) grade. The process has been an opportunity to reflect on my professional growth, present my achievements, and align my career trajectory with industry standards. I suggest colleagues aspiring to upgrade to ACIfA have a look at the successful submission examples provided on the CIfA website and participate in the dedicated meetings, which I found particularly useful and friendly.
