Community Archaeology Group tea break talk - Managing the Message: Archaeology in the Media

Description
The Community Archaeology Group invites you to join us for our informal tea break talk which is taking place from 12:30 until 13:30, 20 May 2026.
This session is titled ‘Managing the Message: Archaeology in the Media' and explores how archaeological stories are shaped, shared, and sometimes distorted across news, television and social platforms. This informal tea break discussion by CIfA’s Community Archaeology Group will invite participants to reflect on best practices for communicating discoveries clearly, responsibly, and engagingly with the public.
We welcome everyone from the archaeological community to join us regardless of your prior experience with the Group, the media or existing knowledge about the topic. This session offers the opportunity to participate in an online conversation, though there is no obligation to take part.
Please note: to facilitate open discussion, this event will not be recorded. Attendance will be the only way to gain access to the content.
