Meaningful metadata
Amanda Forster, DigVentures
Looking broadly at digital data in archaeology projects, the workshop will outline the relevance of FAIR principles to our work: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. How are these four principles relevant to archaeology, why are they useful and how do we achieve them? We'll investigate how new CIfA guidance can support good practice for digital archives management, looking closely at a couple of examples with a workshop challenge to consider how we can make better use of digital archives. Some final reflections will ask what participants what we need to do to make our data more accessible, useable and - ultimately - more meaningful.
