Description
Digital recording has been explored within archaeology for three decades yet there is currently no industry-standard application. Born-digital archaeological recording has the very real potential to create significant cost and time efficiencies, allow for more efficient working practices, greater public benefit from excavations, and support rapid access and reuse of generated data and knowledge. This session will investigate current usage within the sector, through papers followed by a discussion element, focused on key questions such as project life cycles, sector needs, benefit and disadvantages, guidance, best practice and training.

Chair: Lucy Parker, Historic England
