As part of the UCL Institute of Archaeology, research and learning are at our core - and we want you to work with us to continue delivering on this mission. We take pride in delivering high quality project outcomes for our clients, working hard to maximise research and public benefit from development-led fieldwork. We work for a range of people supporting development and infrastructure projects as well as heritage management. Our large team provides a comprehensive range of services and areas of specialist expertise so there are plenty of people to learn from as your career in archaeology progresses.

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor in our Post-Excavation team. The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for ASE's Sussex based processing. This role is based at our office in Sussex and is part of the wider in-house Post-Excavation team,  which comprises processors and specialists working on a range of artefactual and environmental material as well as project managers, illustrators and archivists.

The postholder will undertake and supervise the processing of both archaeological artefacts and environmental samples from development-led fieldwork.

This is a core post providing the opportunity to join our established team based out of Portslade, East Sussex.

About you
You will ideally have a minimum of 18 months experience working in UK commercial archaeology and have a degree in archaeology or a related discipline.

Please provide a clear statement in response to each of the selection criteria, which shows how your qualifications, experience and training fit each of them. Please provide one or two sentences addressing each criterion (it is expected that more detailed evidence will be available in your CV). It would be very helpful if you could order this statement in line with the selection criteria in the “Person Specification” at the end of the Job description. Your responses to all the selection criteria form an essential part of the selection process and a failure to provide this information will mean that the application will not be considered. An answer to any of the criteria such as 'Please see attached CV' will not be considered acceptable.
