Job description/person specification You will have at least 6 months supervisory experience in UK commercial archaeology. You will be enthusiastic, a problem solver and have a willingness to work, learn and take instruction. You should be fit and capable of undertaking physical work, with a courteous and professional manner. A good understanding of site narratives and formation processes is essential. Although the role is predominantly site based, you will be required to undertake post-excavation tasks as necessary.
All candidates must have the following:
- Good knowledge and understanding of British archaeology of all periods
- A commitment to working ethically within an industry wide Code of Conduct
- A good understanding of the nature of UK commercial archaeology
- The ability to work to deadlines and to manage small teams
- A strong ability in field archaeological practices
- Willingness to work on your own or as part of a team
- Willingness to work away from home
- Driving licence
- Excellent communication
Positive can-do attitude and appreciation of the working environment
Desirable
- Relevant archaeological qualification
- CIfA membership
