Graphics Archaeology Group AGM

Our AGM is now booked for Saturday 16 November at 10am. Join us as we go over this year's successes and layout our plans for the next.
The session will not only be an opportunity to hear about the work we have been involved with over the past year, but it will also be a chance to feed into conversations about our future plans.
Discussion during the AGM
We will also be hosting a discussion which anyone is free to contribute to on the topic of Traditional and digital recording methods – an assessment.
As a profession we are adapting and relying increasingly on technology to assist us in recording archaeology. Digital recording systems on site, digital photography and photogrammetry and born digital art are commonplace across the sector. We would like to explore the following themes and start to assess whether there is a compromise we may be making in the name of efficiency. The themes of discussion will be:
- Are we losing anything through digital recording?
- What are we gaining through digital recording?
- Is there a sweet spot between digital and traditional methods?
We invite colleagues across all specialisms to join us in this discussion. Further outputs might include a paper at CIfA's 2025 conference.
