Zoom details have now been sent out for this event - if you have registered and not received these, please check your junk mail folder or contact us via email@example.com
Comments on social media, such as during the Heritage Chat on Twitter, have highlighted how much people are missing the everyday networking opportunities which have been halted due to lockdown procedures. We know nothing can really beat the cross-organisational networking that happens in the break room, but we are trying to fill that gap.
Join us for evening chat, an after work discussion, from 18:00 until 18:45. Expand your social network from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are currently located, and perhaps chat with some people on Zoom other than your daily contacts! We will set up a series of break-out rooms for people to join and go from there.
CIfA staff will also be joining in on the conversations, so feel free to say hi! Please bear in mind: this is something new we are trying out. If you can think of ways to improve the process, let us know and we will see what we can do! This will be completely free with up to 100 spaces available.
Career shift: returning to archaeology
It is not uncommon for archaeologists to have to leave the industry for a while, especially for personal circumstances or when work dries up for years. The routes back in can be hard to navigate and the impact of the gap can leave returners feeling at a disadvantage - perhaps having to start again at the bottom, or feeling they are unable to compete with younger staff. What are your thoughts and experiences? How can the barriers be overcome and what are the opportunities? Let’s have a conversation. If you have an opinion, would like to share your knowledge, or would just like to talk to other returners, please join the chat.
Building closer relationships between commercial and other sectors
Hear from other archaeologists and share your own examples of successful collaborations, thoughts or ideas. How can we build closer relationships between commercial archaeology and other sectors?
This meeting will take place on Zoom; the link for the meeting will be sent out the hour before the meeting starts.
