Focus group June - CIfA Accreditation process review

Description
As part of the work the CIfA EDI Committee is undertaking in response to the Qualitative Inequalities Report, and the wider CIfA Business Plan, we are reviewing the processes and procedures of the Institute. As a priority, we are looking at removing barriers to access and participation, particularly in career progression. We recognise that there are barriers inherent in the Accreditation process as it currently stands, and want to work with members to develop the process into being more accessible and inclusive for all.
As a first stage, we are scheduling a series of focus groups with members and potential members, to discuss potential ways the process could be altered to make it more accessible. These will be online focus groups, in March, April and June of 2024, and feedback from them will help us to understand the major issues and find ways to tackle the current barriers in place. There will be daytime and evening sessions, in order to give the most opportunity for people to attend. We can also offer individual 1-2-1 sessions for those who do not wish to take part in group discussions, or we can accept written feedback via email - please contact us to arrange at alex.llewellyn@archaeologists.net. We would be particularly interested in hearing from neurodiverse individuals, and anyone accessing the website through assistive technologies.
