Description
The session is a re-scheduling of the timber day-school which was cancelled last year. The purpose of the session is to increase the knowledge and profile around timber buildings in Wales.
Featured presenters:
Dr George Nash is employed by SLR Consulting in Shrewsbury and has just completed one of the UK’s largest dendrochronology projects
Stephen Briggs undertook post-graduate work on the prehistory of mid-Ulster and thereafter several projects at RCAHMW over 33 years. In retirement since 2006 he has written and lectured on a variety of antiquarian topics together with bog bodies, implement petrography and historic gardens.
Margaret Dunn M.Phil M.Ed has been involved with education, youthwork, archaeology & community history projects since the early 1960s. Since 2005 she has led “Discovering Old Welsh Houses” which works with communities to find, research, record & where possible date pre1700 houses.
Ian Brooks is Director of Engineering Archaeological Services Ltd, based in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd.
Richard Suggett FSA is a Senior Investigator at the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales
Ross Cook is a Buildings Archaeologist and Dendrochronologist, specialising in the buildings of Wales and England. He runs a small practice called ArchaeoDomus from his home in Lampeter.
