What says Archives to you? CIfA Archives Group Competition

The Archives Group are on the hunt for a new image for our group publicity postcard and we want your help. We are running a competition to find a humorous and eye-catching image that reflects the theme of Archaeological Archives. This could cover any area of archaeological archiving from transfer of title to digital metadata creation. What says archive to you?

Are you handy with the pen, clever with a caption, and work in an archive? We are looking for images, drawings, photos that take a humorous look at archives. So dig out your doodles, search your photos, compose those captions and submit them today.

The winner will get their design printed on our group's postcard and receive a £20 book voucher. Two runners up will receive a trowel-shaped USB stick donated by the ADS. To be in with a chance of winning, send your entries to the group's email,archaeologicalarchives@gmail.com, by Saturday 14 March

All entrants must be willing for their artwork to be used on the AAG postcard for public dissemination, but copyright will remain with the artist and be clearly displayed on the postcard. Entries should meet the following specifications:

- 300 dpi minimum

- 148 x 105mm

- The image must have space for the CIfA logo and some text, so include some blank space in your design. Below are some examples of the space needed.

The winner will be chosen by the Archives Group committee and will be announced at our AGM at the Birmingham Midlands Institute on Wednesday 18 March.

On that note... did you know it is only a month until our AGM and group conference?

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you can book your tickets for the conference here, and find out more about nominating yourself to a committee position on the group webpage here.
