Professional ethics

Our Winter 2019 edition of The Archaeologist focuses on professional ethics.  The articles discuss how, by becoming accredited professionals, we sign up to ethical rules and obligations which define our behaviours, and how we can regularly discuss the ethical dilemmas we come across in our daily work to recognise the issues facing us and to avoid acting unethically.

This edition of TA also promotes the ethical resources we have to assist members which includes our Introduction to professional ethics practice paper.

We have also introduced a series of ethics workshops into our events programme which will look at real life dilemmas we may face as professional archaeologists and debate how we can approach these using the guidance and resources we have available to us. The next workshop will be held on 19 February in Birmingham.
