Are you still referring to or seeing reference to the Code of approved practice for contractual arrangements in archaeology?

The old Institute of Field Archaeologists Code of approved practice for contractual arrangements in archaeology was removed from the suite of regulations when IfA transferred to CIfA in 2014.

The majority of the requirements in the Code of approved practice were replaced by the Standard and guidance for commissioning work on, or providing consultancy advice on, archaeology and the historic environment. Other parts of the Code of approved practice were incorporated into the sections on Written Schemes of Investigation and Specifications in our suite of fieldwork standards (excavation, field evaluation and watching briefs), and at the same time these were updated to provide more guidance on how WSIs should be written and what they should contain.

Our standards spotlight articles give an overview of updates and all the current regulations and standards and guidance are available online.

If you find reference to the Code of approved practice in any current documents please can you advise that these are removed and replaced with the correct document references.
