Summary

CIfA-D is the professional association for archaeology in Germany. We are the German group of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, based in the United Kingdom. We look for a Senior Group Coordinator (Sekretariat) m/f/d to support of the Committee in Germany on a part-time basis, starting as soon as possible. CIfA is active for all those working in archaeology. CIfA-D will be in due course a registered association (e.V.).

Your role

  • Membership management in collaboration with the UK office
  • Support for the Committee in membership recruitment in Germany
  • Administration of the CIfA-D group (PO Box, emails, website and other media, distribution, editorial support etc.)
  • Event organisation (general meeting, committee meetings, advertisement booths at third-party events etc.)
  • Organisational communication with the head office
  • Translation or proofing of internal documents from English to German (regulations, statements etc.)
  • Support of German members in CIfA committees (Validation committee, Professional conduct panels etc.)
  • Administrative support for assessment of applications to the Register of Organisations (Gütezeichens für Archäologie)

Coordination and work management is provided by the Chair or officers of the German committee.

Your profile

Essential

  • Fluency in spoken and written German and English
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically in speech and writing
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Demonstrated competence in administration
  • High flexibility and motivation
  • Enjoyment of new challenges

Advantageous

  • Previous work with a membership organisation
  • Customer service skills
  • Interest in archaeology and archaeological heritage management
  • Ability to work with volunteers
  • Experience in membership assistance or customer service
