Summary

Become a specialist supporting vital work to improve water, land and biodiversity.

At the Environment Agency we work to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development. Our responsibilities span regulation of major industry and waste; treatment of contaminated land: water quality and resources; fisheries; inland river, estuary and harbour navigations; conservation and ecology.

As NEAS Senior Archaeologist, you will be recognised and valued as a specialist technical advisor. You will be instrumental in managing the lifecycle of our flood and coastal risk management assets. With important responsibilities for the assurance of our asset management services, you will enjoy a varied role. Your contribution could range from advising teams and partners in the execution of asset management activity, through to developing and implementing policy and process. You may also find yourself producing or reviewing documentation such as technical designs, risk assessments, reports or instructions to support management decisions or ways of working.

To join us you will need proven, relevant experience, with a demonstrable ability to plan and manage work, and to identify and act on risk. The knowledge to effectively manage health, safety and wellbeing matters is vital. You will also bring to the role good relationship building, influencing and negotiating skills, enabling you to collaborate with colleagues and, potentially, to represent the Environment Agency at events such as local government or public meetings.

In return for your commitment, you can expect a competitive salary, generous career average pension scheme and a range of flexible working options, plus health and wellbeing benefits.
