Summary

MOLA is seeking Finds and Environmental Processors to join our Research and Engagement division in Northampton. We have a number of varied and exciting projects of all scales due to start imminently as well as continued work on major infrastructure schemes. Our expertise is being sought in infrastructure, residential and commercial developments across the central, eastern, and southern counties.

We are looking for dynamic and motivated individuals to be a part of a highly successful team. MOLA have a policy of mentoring and training staff at all levels in order to develop individual capability and enhance career prospects, with opportunities for internal advancement and promotion. You will also work alongside a range of finds and environmental specialists. The role will be based in the MOLA processing facility in Northampton. We are open to appointing to either full or part time contracts and will happily discuss flexible hours/working patterns.  The role may suit someone with an interest in archaeology but who hasn’t previously worked in the sector.

The Role

The successful candidate will join our large Finds and Environmental Processing Team, and tasks will include:

  • Processing environmental samples via flotation and sorting their residues
  • Process finds and human remains from excavations, including washing, marking, and packaging to MOLA standards
  • Logging finds and environmental information into MOLA databases in an accurate, detailed, and reliable fashion.
  • Contribute to the successful commercial operation of MOLA.
