Built Heritage Consultant

We are looking for motivated, experienced and capable individuals to join our Built Heritage and Planning Team to deliver built heritage projects, principally within the London Region but also nationwide. The role

The successful candidate will be part of MOLA’s Built Heritage and Planning Team based in London and will undertake a range of built heritage projects, principally Heritage Statements, typically in London and the south east, but sometimes further afield. You will report to the Built Heritage Project Manager and will work with a team of Heritage Consultants and Buildings Archaeologists. You will be required to maintain high standards and produce the quality of work expected of MOLA, while also completing projects within set timescales and budgets. Health and safe considerations in all working practices are essential. 

Ideally candidates will have demonstrable experience of research and preparation of Heritage Statements and other built heritage reports. There is also the opportunity for the right candidate with the ambition to move their career forward as part of MOLA’s commitment to career development, for which training and mentoring would be provided.  In order to help with this, MOLA offer a structured training and development programme.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage their own workload and prioritise accordingly.  A suitable level of experience in team management and project delivery is expected.  The successful candidates will be able to motivate, empower and inspire project teams and be able to build productive and professional relationships with all our partners across the sector including clients, consultants, other contractors and curators.  Problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams are essential.

Membership of IHBC, or CIfA or willingness to apply is required. MOLA will pay for application and membership fees.  A full clean driving licence, or commitment to learn to drive, is also required as regular travel may be required.
