Summary

Hours: This role may be delivered flexibly within the budget available. Options may include:

  • Working full-time at 37 hours per week for up to eight months
  • Working part-time at 29.6 hours per week for up to ten months
  • Working part-time at 22.2 hours per week for thirteen months
  • Working part-time at 14.8 hours per week for nineteen months

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to develop the Somerset Pottery Fabric Type Series (Medieval and Post-Medieval) and to make it accessible to a wide range of people through this Historic England funded project.

 

You will need a passion for heritage and material culture as well as a sustained interest in and curiosity about archaeological pottery. You will also require the ability to work flexibly as part of a team and in collaboration with others. As part of the role you will receive mentoring from Medieval and Post-Medieval pottery specialists and complete a bespoke induction and training programme. We welcome applications from individuals who, with the agreement of their organisation, wish to undertake the role as a secondment.

The South West Heritage Trust is an independent charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon. With a turnover exceeding £3.5 million each year, we manage and run two Archives and Local Studies services, three museums (including the Museum of Somerset), and we look after the historic environment in Somerset, including over 400 acres of reserves.
