Scotland Digs: Making Your Archaeological Fieldwork Events More Accessible

Find out how to make your events more accessible for members of the public with options for all budgets | Part of Scotland Digs 2021.

Description
Come along to hear from Sarahjayne Clements from the Enabled Archaeology Foundation which aims to empower, equip and enable all people with or without dis/Abilities to take part in every area of archaeology they choose and combat people’s negative and/or prejudicial attitudes to dis/Abled and enabled involvement in contemporary archaeology.

Sarahjayne will cover free and low-cost ways to make your community or development-led event more accessible that anyone can implement, including what information to include when advertising.

She’ll also talk about what you should prioritise and offer suggestions with regards to what to ask for in your funding applications, crowdfunding campaigns or fundraising webpages if you’d like to make your event even more welcoming.

Sarahjayne’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session to cover any key issues or questions in more detail - just in time for Scottish Archaeology Month (#ScotArchMonth) organised by Archaeology Scotland and European Heritage Days celebrating Inclusive and Diverse Heritage.

This webinar is part of Scotland Digs 2021, the annual campaign coordinated by Dig It! to promote the summer dig season.

Who should attend?
This event is designed for anyone who works/volunteers in Scotland’s archaeology sector.
