What is innovation in practice? How are we defining innovation?
In January 2021 many of you attended our first Innovation festival which showcased a great variety of presentations, workshops and discussion panels all focused on the subject of innovation in archaeology.

This festival was inspired by the Historic England funded project - Building capacity through innovation which explored the potential barriers and issues associated with the consistent implementation of innovation in developer-led archaeology. The report published this summer presented data related to the perceptions and experiences of those individuals and organisations working on developer-led projects across the historic environment. A series of further recommendations for improvement were included focusing on the themes of facilitating knowledge exchange and the consistent dissemination of information across the historic environment sector.

We would like to take the opportunity at the end of the Innovation festival to reflect on these recommendations and encourage the sharing of experiences from those working in developer-led archaeology. This is an open session and we'd welcome your participation in this discussion even if you are not attending the Innovation festival and you can register below.
