Come to our regular gathering of CIfA members, combining the networking of live events with archaeological topics.

Zoom details have now been sent out for this event - if you have registered and not received these, please check your junk mail folder or contact us via conference@archaeologists.net

Description

Comments on social media, such as during the Heritage Chat on Twitter, have highlighted how much people are missing the everyday networking opportunities which have been halted due to lockdown procedures. We know nothing can really beat the cross-organisational networking that happens in the break room, but we are trying to fill that gap.

Join us for Lunchtime chat, a digital lunch break, from 12:30 until 13:15. Expand your social network from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are currently located, and perhaps chat with some people on Zoom other than your daily contacts! We will set up a series of break-out rooms for people to join and go from there.

CIfA staff will also be joining in on the conversations, so feel free to say hi! Please bear in mind: this is something new we are trying out. If you can think of ways to improve the process, let us know and we will see what we can do! This will be completely free with up to 100 spaces available.

Topics:

  • Informal network for neurodiverse archaeologists
Over the last year we have been running a campaign to raise awareness of and change attitudes towards neurodiversity in archaeology. Leading on from this we want to discuss what next: is there interest in setting up an informal network for neurodiverse archaeologists and how should we go about that? Do we continue with our regular tea break discussions? What other training topics should we look at? Come and join Cara and Alex and let us know what you think would be best.

  • CSCS cards for archaeologists
CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry and provides proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out. Find out more about the requirements for archaeologists and how to apply for a CSCS card as we answer your questions.
