CIfA2021 is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, nationality, education, experience, career or speciality.
In this aim, we expect all conference delegates, presenters and exhibitors to adhere to the CIfA’s Code of Conduct, Policy Statement on Equal Opportunities and Statement about dignity and respect for staff which indicates the standard of conduct to which members of the Institute are expected to adhere as well as non-members by their participation in CIfA2021 online.

Whilst we welcome discussion, debate, networking and engagement within the conference, participants should conduct themselves with professionalism, showing all other participants respect, courtesy and consideration.
Any form of harassment, discrimination and bullying is unacceptable and will not be tolerated throughout CIfA2021 in sessions, workshops, group or one-on-one discussions and in all other conference content and communication.
Harassment, discrimination and bullying can include, but is not limited to:
- Unwanted behaviour, inappropriate jokes or images
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning verbal or written comments and images
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of sessions or other events
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour
Harassment can occur when there is no deliberate intention to offend. Harassment committed in a joking manner or disguised as a compliment still constitutes unacceptable behaviour. We would ask that all participants are mindful and careful in the words that they choose.
If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, CIfA2021 will take immediate action to make sure that the event is a welcoming environment for everyone. Participants will be warned and asked to stop any harassing behaviour and are expected to comply immediately. Participants that are found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct or engaging in harassment, discrimination or bullying, may be removed from the online conferencing platform without refund and further action may be taken.
