Official Launch for the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists

Official launch for the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists

The Institute for Archaeologists received its Royal Charter status earlier this year and will officially launch as the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) on Tuesday 9 December 2014. Achieving chartered status for the Institute has been one of our long-term strategic goals and something that members and non-members were keen to pursue. This is a very significant and exciting moment for the Institute and one which we hope will raise the profile of the profession and in turn raise the status of accredited members of the Institute.

We would like to invite you to join us at the official launch and celebratory drinks reception for CIfA, which will be held at the Museum of London on the Tuesday 9 December 2014 from 5:00-7:00pm, where there will be a chance to meet other professionals that work within the heritage sector.

Earlier in the day we will also be holding a workshop launching CIfA Practice Paper 11, 2014, An introduction to providing career entry training in your organisation, followed by the inaugural AGM of CIfA and a discussion culminating in a panel session and open debate at 4:00pm on what our Charter means for archaeological professionals and the sector. You would however be very welcome to join us for any part of the day.
For further information about the launch and for joining instructions please follow the link to the Eventbrite page which will detail the timetable for the day.
