In June 2014, IfA received its Royal Charter of Incorporation from HM Queen in recognition of its role as the professional institute for archaeology. We are offering an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Institute to support the transition of the organisation to the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists. The Development Coordinator will work with existing staff to assist with developing and promoting the transfer of the Institute to the Chartered Institute and the implementation of the associated changes to the governance structure of the organisation. They will also assist with the development and promotion of other aspects of charter, including pathways to membership, arranging and attending discussion workshops with members and stakeholders, and reforming constitutional documentation.
This is an 18 month contract and we are looking for someone with a good understanding of IfA or the role of professional institutes. Ideally you will have had experience of working as part of a project team and be able to take responsibility for aspects of project work.
It is hoped that the post will be part funded by the HLF as part of the Institute's transition fund project, and is therefore subject to funding as a full time position. Interviews will be held on 12 August 2014 with an anticipated start date of September 2014.
To apply please send a CV and covering letter explaining your suitability for the position by 5pm on Thursday 31 July to alex.llewellyn [at] archaeologists.net or by post to Institute for Archaeologists, Miller Building, University of Reading, Whiteknights, Reading, RG6 6AB
