IfA members are invited to comment on the revised National Occupational Standards for Archaeological Practice.
The NOS were originally developed in 2002/3 and have been used to develop an NVQ in Archaeological Practice and for structuring job descriptions, training plans and skills audits, for more information see The National Occupational Standards page. They are currently being reviewed by the IfA on behalf of Creative and Cultural Skills, the Sector Skills Council for archaeology and heritage. As part of the review, new units have been developed for community archaeology and archive deposition and dissemination and new content developed covering the application of technical and ethical standards.
