Seeing red: international conference on new economic and social perspectives on Gallo-Roman sigillata

1 - 3 April 2011

The conference, held at the University of Reading, aims to capture the new research on samian stimulated by the publication of Brian Hartley’s and Brenda Dickinson’s Names on terra sigillata. Speakers from a wide range of European countries, from the Atlantic to the Black Sea, and the Baltic to the Mediterranean, will give papers on the following themes: production centres (history, location and technology); consumption and distribution; onomastics and iconography.

Cost is £250 (full residential); £100 (full non-residential); £50 (day rate).
