Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund conference hosted by EH and IfA
The Past Changing the Future; nine years of ALSF funding in the Historic Environment
A one day conference hosted by English Heritage and the Institute for Archaeologists
Monday 4 October 2010, 11am – 4.30pm
Society of Antiquaries of London, Burlington House
The Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF) was introduced in 2002. Defra invited English Heritage (EH), to distribute funds to distribute to projects that mitigated the effects of past, current, and future aggregates extraction on the Historic Environment. All EH projects have been directly related to aggregates extraction, additional to any conditions or responsibilities imposed by the planning system, and of national or regional importance as well as fulfilling English Heritage corporate and research objectives. Some 357 projects (Defra ALSF Database) have been funded through the English Heritage ALSF.
For more information, a day programme and booking info please download a flyer. A hard copy of this has been sent to all IfA members with the latest issue of The Archaeologist.
