Last Seminars: 'New Views on Old Buildings' and 'Funerary and Ritual Monuments'

If you missed the IfA dayschool on 4 November in Machynlleth, you missed a meeting with a real buzz to it. We departed from our normal format of speaker and questions to bring in a workshop element for the afternoon session. The subject matter was CPD – Continuing Professional Development – and the day was led by Kenneth Aitchison and Kate Geary from the IfA. They gave an overview of CPD, why and how, while Jonathan Berry from Cadw and Charlotte Berry, an archivist, gave personal views on how CPD worked for them. The afternoon was spent in smaller groups looking at how to construct a personal development plan and how to log CPD. The day was a big success and everyone left full of enthusiasm and ideas about how it could work for them.

A proforma personal development plan and CPD log, as well as further information and advice on the IFA CPD Scheme, can be downloaded from the Training pages of the IfA website.
