Critical mass; working together for a better archaeology

Tuesday 13 October 2015, York Merchant Adventurers Hall

A joint conference hosted by CIfA and CBA

The conference programme will include keynote speakers to inspire and stimulate a number of themed conversations to get us all talking about archaeology, accessibility and impact.

This joint conference, hosted by the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and the Council for British Archaeology, aims to bring together practitioners, volunteers and organisations to think about how we can all work together for a better archaeology. Combining inspirational talks with workshop discussions covering a range of topics from funding and training, to communication and citizen science, we are keen to make sure that everyone with an interest in archaeology takes part.

Come along and help us understand issues, identify solutions and plan actions which will make a better archaeology for all. This is about critical mass, action and effect – and we need you there to make it happen.

Programme

Registration from 9.00, with talks and discussions kicking off at 9.30. Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided. The day closes at 16.00 (to be followed by CIfA’s AGM), with a wine reception from 18.00 - 19.00 at Jorvik Viking Centre.
