An introduction to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Organisers: Kirsten Holland and Paul Burgess, WYG Environment

The aim of this session will be to provide an introduction to Environmental Impact Assessment for those working in the archaeology and heritage sectors. The session will be suitable for those who have little or no experience of undertaking EIA but have experience of desk-based assessments and evaluations, or those new to the curatorial sector. The session won’t give you all the answers, but hopefully at the end you’ll know what questions you need to ask. The session will cover context and regulatory background, key steps, the EIA process and methodologies, a practical case study exercise, future developments and Q&A.
