Assessing significance for planning applications

This workshop is an essential for all those involved in preparing predetermination reports wishing to understand the requirements of PPS5 and the new NPPF (publication of which is planned for March 2012). It will give a general introduction to the principles of PPS5/NPPF and highlight the changes that need to be put in place to prepare predetermination reports. Delegates will receive practical tips from the perspective of local authority historic environment and senior English Heritage staff on what is and is not sufficient for purpose, and whose responsibility it is for assessing the impact on the significance of a range of heritage assets.
